THOUGH THE LIGHT DIED
(To Tessa)
by jnrJacinto
and the light died
in the room
but upon
the boards arose
again
the warm trace
of a gentle effluvium
perhaps faint
but
nevertheless awakening
nostalgic rebirth
long forgotten
while
the shadows
dim upon the wall
stretch to their full
desiring perhaps
to cover the place
where
the remains
stood mute testimonies
of your being here
one beautiful
summer night
of long ago.
